Courage Worn Like a Cape: Celebrating a Decade of Elevate Your NOW

Guess what Reader? As of this month, I've owned and operated Elevate your NOW for 10 years!!

It was my intention to share a courageous moment that had something to do with the decision to take a trip around the world and eventually move abroad.

Well friend, I've recently been digging into my well of courage (sometimes scraping the bottom) and thinking about times in the past when I've worn bravery like a badass designer cape. But you know what moments came through the clearest? When courage was draped around my body like a threadbare, patched-up, thin winter coat lol.

The realization that showed up along with these memories, was that courage was never out of reach and it didn't matter what form it took. As long as I could grab hold and envelope myself in it some way -

blinged out, chin up, cape billowing in my wake

or

knees knocking, barely covered, frayed edges filthy -

It gave me the push I needed to walk faster than my fear.

It took massive courage to go from hosting 30+ friends spread out on couches and pillows in my living room to renting a large space, creating a curriculum, asking for help and marketing a workshop.

Yes, I have owned multiple businesses but this was different. I had no things to create with my hands, products to describe or things to place on a shelf. There was no licensing of someone else's genius to put my knowledge on top of.

No, this was ME. My process, my experience, my years of study and practice. Me by myself onstage teaching and sharing from the heart. Oh and my sweat... did I mention that? Yeah because it was also me sweating profusely through each moment of courage lol.

I made over $1000 that night, felt the support of family & friends (set-up, workbook stapling, audio-visual, snacks, registration, encouragement OMG), and lit a fire under what would become my 6 figure Calling. A fire was also lit under the dreams of many people in the room that went on to realize relationships, new houses and businesses still operating to this day!

"The root of the word courage is cor – the Latin word for heart. In one of its earliest forms, the word courage had a very different definition than it does today. Courage originally meant "To speak one's mind by telling all one's heart." - Brené Brown

Reader, what is on your heart?

It was on my heart in 2015 to do and be more. Hear me when I say this: My life was GOOD. It was a actually a previous dream realized.

There is nothing wrong with wanting MORE. When I coach women we go over at least 8 different aspects of their life. There are often buckets in our lives that are full and some that are empty. We've been socialized to be satisfied, to be thankful for just enough and to avoid asking for more or better.

I'm giving you permission to be AUDACIOUS enough to claim and take the next step on the shortest route to what is on your heart.

Let me ask you again: What is on your heart?

Courage is never out of reach and it doesn't matter what form it takes. Right now it's taking the form of hitting reply and claiming what you need courage to BE, DO or HAVE this year!

I'm listening. Your mind & body are listening. Spirit is listening...
